Maria Lopez O’balle

Maria Lopez O”balle, 85, of Lockhart, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, in Luling, Texas. She was born on Nov. 17, 1922, in Gonzales, Texas, and was the daughter of the late Florencio and Pabla Lopez. She was one of 14 children.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bennie O”balle Sr., and her son Bennie O”balle, Jr.

r sons, Paul O”balle and wife, Lupe, of Lockhart, Freddie O”balle (and Dora Lopez), of Lockhart, and Johnny O”balle and wife, Christina, of Lockhart; daughters, Rosa Gutierrez and husband, Greg, of Abilene, Beatrice Rodriguez and husband, Blas, of Lockhart, Mary Frances Aguilar and husband, Miguel, of Lockhart, Carmen O”balle, of Lockhart, and Lydia Cortez and husband, Antonio, of Lockhart; and daughter-in law, Terry O”balle, of Austin. She was blessed with 27 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. O”balle was a member of St. Mary”s Catholic Church.
A visitation was held on Feb. 5, 2008, at McCurdy Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was scheduled on Feb. 6, 2008, at 7 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at St. Mary”s Catholic Church with Reverend Robert Becker officiating. Interment followed at St. Mary”s Catholic Cemetery in Lockhart.
Serving as pallbearers are Paul Anthony O”balle, James Ortiz, Michael Aguilar, Johnny O”balle, Jr., Adam Castillo and Chris O”balle. Honorary pallbearers are Gregory Gutierrez, Jerry O”balle, Bennie O”balle, III, Robert O”balle and Damien Natal.
