Maria Samaro Luna, 90, of Lockhart, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, in Kyle, Texas.

Maria was born in Maxwell, Texas, to Baldomero and Anita Gonzales Samaro on May 15, 1925.

Maria was united in marriage to Genaro Luna on Sept. 17, 1948. She raised their loving children in Lockhart, Texas, and worked as a seamstress and clothes maker.

d, Genaro Luna; two daughters, Tomasita Mendoza and Margarita Carrizales, both of Lockhart; two sons, Abraham James Luna, of Round Rock, Robert Lee Luna, of Lockhart; two sisters, Juanita Juarez and Nicolasa Alfaro, both of Lockhart; three brothers, Aniceto Samaro, of San Marcos, Jose Samaro, of Austin, and Monico Samaro, of Lockhart; five grandchildren; three great-grand-children; special nieces and nephews: Marina, Lucy, John, Ramon, Peter, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, Jan. 18 at Eeds Funeral Home Chapel from noon – 9 p.m., with Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Celebration was held on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with burial following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers were: Randall Scott Mendoza, Adrian Rene Carrizales, Christopher Bradford, Peter Mojica, Milton Juarez, Jr., and Troy Samaro.  Honorary Pallbearers were Raul Samaro, Gilbert Garza, Jr., Kristal Dawn Mendoza-Bradford, Marina Carrizales-Mendez, Luca Scott Mendoza, and Gavin Michael Bradford.
