Micaela Briceno Arriaga, 80, of Lockhart, formerly of San Antonio, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2014.  She was born on Sept. 29, 1932.

Mrs. Arriaga was preceded in death by her husband, Raul S. Arriaga; parents, Ventura Briceno, Sr., and Maria Dominguez Briceno; sisters, Anastacia B. Prieto and Eduarda Briceno Sauceda; and brothers, Guadalupe Briceno and Jose Briceno.

e is survived by her brothers: Ventura Briceno, Jr. (Apolonia), Feliciano Briceno (Ruth), Agustin Briceno, Sr. (Mary), Gregoria Briceno (Nieves) and Margarito Briceno (Rosa); and stepsons: Raul Arriaga, Jr. Reymundo H. Arriaga, Juan Manuel H. Arriaga, Leonardo H. Arriaga, Erazmo H. Arriaga, Alejos H. Arriaga and Hector H. Arriaga.

Recitation of the rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church. Funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, also at St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church. Burial followed in Hispanic Clark Chapel Cemetery in McMahan, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Albert Arriaga, Ruben Briceno, Benny Briceno, Gus Briceno, Ben Briceno and David Briceno. Honorary pallbearers will be Tina Briceno, Maria V. Peralez and Mary Ann Briceno.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Parkview Nursing Home and Odyssey Hospice of San Marcos for their care of Mrs. Arriaga.
