Our beloved Mick Mehrdad Massudi lost his courageous two-year battle with leukemia on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at M.D. Anderson in Houston.
Mick was born in Tehran, Iran on Dec. 4, 1948. He lived in Iran until he was 9 years old. He moved to London, where he was educated at Brentside Secondary Modern School for Boys. He then took a five-year apprenticeship with Page &#0

38; Girling and worked as a journeyman electrician for three years. He returned to Iran for four years where he continued his apprenticeship as an electrician. In 1978 he immigrated to America and settled in Groveton, Texas, where he established his own business as an air conditioning and appliance repairman.
In 1992 Mick moved to Lockhart. He was employed for 14 years with a privately-owned prison facility in Lockhart where he worked as Supervisor of Maintenance. He also established his own company, Lockhart Air Conditioning.
Mick is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Milton Massudi; his children: Roya Inez of Groveton, Jeremy Omede of Houston, Rahmin Ellis of Waco, and Leylah Elizabeth Massudi, of Groveton; one granddaughter, Kathryn Massudi; his mother, Meehat Moazed Afzali of Tehran, Iran; brother Sam Massudi of London, England; two sisters. Shahlla Mostashfi, of Springboro, Ohio and Neda Sorornejad, of Boston, Mass.; brother-in-law Hamid Sorornejad; and six nieces and nephews.
Mick leaves a cadre of friends and a devoted family that had the joy of knowing a loving, kind, generous and loyal man. He was a musician, and a lover of good food and good company. Noted for his infectious laughter, his 100-watt smile, his irrepressible sense of humor, his bushy mustache and his love of fishing and storytelling, he will be missed and remembered by hundreds of people he befriended or helped in times of need.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of this unique and amazing human being will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Massudi home at 511 Wichita Street, Lockhart, Texas.
