Mildred Field died on Jan. 3, 2009 in Lockhart, Texas.

Born on Feb. 24, 1933, in San Marcos, she was the tenth of 11 children born to Henrich Andres Schulle and Laura Emma Hofheinz Schulle. She was baptized and confirmed at the First American Lutheran Church in San Marcos, and she attended the Blanco Star School, graduating from San Marcos High School in 1951. She att

ended Austin Business College in 1955.

On Oct. 10, 1954, Mildred married Tillotson Beirne “Skip” Field, Jr. from Lockhart, Texas. They settled in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, where they raised three boys, and Mildred enjoyed volunteering with Cub Scouts, the Twentieth Century Club, and the Ladies Circle of the Presbyterian Church. In 1996 Mildred and Skip moved back to Lockhart to be with family and friends.

Mildred loved to have fun and was known for her beautiful smile and lively spirit. She was an inspiration to others as she suffered without complaint and always saw the bright side of life. She was filled with joy and will be missed by many.

Surviving her are husband, Tillotson B. “Skip” Field, Jr.; sons, Douglas B. Field and wife, Karla, of Lockhart, Michael A. Field and wife, Lynn, of Prairie Lea, and Craig A. Field, of Austin; and five grandchildren: Holly Laurelle Field, Heidi Beth Field, Hannah Kate Field, Tillotson Keenen Evans Field and Michael Baris Steven Field. She is also survived by brothers, Marvin Schulle, of Dalton, Ga., and Henry L. Schulle, of Houston; sisters, Linda Holter and Mary Ann Cheatham, both of Lockhart; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Laura (Hoffeinz) Schulle; her brothers, Gerhardt Schulle, Hilmar Schulle, Milton Schulle, Alfred Schulle and Norman Schulle and her sister, Wanda Holter.

A visitation was held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 6, 2009 at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel in Lockhart. The memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Lockhart with Pastor Bob Hahn officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the Golden Age Home Animal Fund.
