Mr. Abelardo “Abe” Villescaz, Attorney at Law, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday night, Feb. 25, 2012.

Mr. Villescaz was preceded in death by is high school sweetheart, the late Rose Polanco Villescaz.

Together, they had four children: Armando Villescaz, Angela Villescaz, Neomi Rose Villescaz-Gonzalez and Andrea Villescaz, who were most precious to him.

Abe is also survived by his faithful companion, Leonor “Penny” Villescaz, and her two children, Steve Garcia and Lisa Soliz.

Abe was blessed to have 14 beloved grandchildren and was proud to be a part of a large family, with his brothers, Robert, Dan, Joe and Jessie Villescaz, and his sisters, Sylvia Damazio and Mary Luna.

Abe started his law practice in Lockhart in 2009, although he had previously done some work here.

Two of the people he admired most and felt so privileged to have worked with were the late Judge M.L. Cisneros, who was instrumental in helping him get his start in Lockhart, and the Hon. Judge Edward Jarrett.

Abe came to know the Lord and accepted him as his Personal Savior in 2010. Abe was loved by everyone he came in contact with and will be missed by all.

It was my honor and pleasure to have known and for a short time worked with Mr.Villescaz. As the bailiff for Caldwell County Court at Law Judge Edward Jarrett, I came in contact with Abe on a daily basis after obtaining his law degree in 2009. I found Abe to be a very sincere and honorable man and considered him a friend. He always made it a point to say goodbye before he left the Courthouse. His presence in the courtroom and also in Lockhart will be sadly missed.
