Barbara L. (Wilson) Keahey succumbed to a long-standing battle with COPD on Aug. 13, 2013, in Austin, Texas.

She was born in Lockhart, Texas, on Aug. 11, 1935, 1935 to O.B. and Nina Wilson, as the youngest of five children. She was married to James “Jim” Keahey for 44 years and lived for that entire period in Austin.

Barbara graduated from Bastrop High School and from

college in San Marcos, Texas; she was certified to teach high school Home Economics and taught that subject in Austin High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Oscar and Norman Wilson, and sister, Vivian Schorlemer.

She is survived by husband, Jim Keahey and brother and sister-in-law, Harold “Hank” and Audrey Wilson, of Lockhart.

A memorial service to commemorate Barbara”s life will be held at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas, at 1 p.m. on Sept. 14, 2013. To view and sign the guestbook visit www.post-register.com/obituaries/barbara-keahey.
