Billy Ray (Bill) Forester, of Prairie Lea, Texas, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on March 28, 2014, at the age of 79. He was born July 9, 1934, in Luling, Texas, to Charles Luther and Myrtle Lee (Belt) Forester.

Bill served his country in the United States Air Force.

After 34 years, he retired from the State of Texas as the Director

of the Texas Federal Inspection Service and later, after 20 years service, he retired from Hays County as a District Court Bailiff.

His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Billie (Bownds) Forester; two sons, Phillip Forester and Patrick Forester and his wife, Melissa; two brothers, L.C. Forester and Charles Forester; three grandchildren, Greg Forester, Shelby Forester-Plummer and Jase Forester; and one great-grandchild, Laney Plummer.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Prairie Lea Baptist Church in Prairie Lea, Texas, with the Rev. Joel Densman and the Rev. Gene Rice officiating.
