Charles Franklin Franz, 82, of Luling, passed away on March 21, 2013, after a year-long battle with cancer, a battle he fought valiantly. Formerly of Lockhart, Texas and Littlefield, Texas, he was a retired Specialist at Advanced Micro Devices. He was past Master at Lytton Springs Masonic Lodge No.487. He also served in the Air Force during the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic. He was President of Littlefield Veterans Memorial, in Littlefield.
He was preceded in death by wife, Connie Ruth Elliott; an infant daughter, Cheryl Byrlene; brothers, Jerry Don and Emmett W. Franz, Jr.; and parents, E.W. Franz, Sr., and Elizabeth.
He leaves behind daughter, Debbie, and husband, John Hendley, of Luling; son, William Chuck Franz; and granddaughter, Erin Franz, both of Alpine, Texas.
Charles will be cremated and memorial services will be conducted April 27 at 2 p.m. at Lytton Springs Masonic Lodge, Lytton Springs, Texas. In lieu of flowers a memorial scholarship is being established in his name. Checks can be made out to Lytton Springs Memorial Scholarship Fund and sent to Debbie Hendly 2541 S.
