Clifton Odell Voigt, 85, passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010. He was born July 8, 1924, to Sam and Ella Voigt in Taylorsville, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Nettie Voigt; one brother, Walter Voigt; and one sister, Luella Duran.

He is survived by his four children: Wayne Voigt, of Lago Vista, Texas, Lloyd Voigt, of Comfort, Tex

as, Ross Voigt of Lockhart, Texas, and Brenda Cauthen of Bellaire, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Bowling and Helen Franks; brothers, Charlie, Orbin and William Voigt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He resided in Austin, Texas, working as a homebuilder for the majority of his life.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, from 6 – 8 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home, 105 E. Pecan St. in Lockhart, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at 10 a.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Pettytown Cemetery in Red Rock, Texas. Friends and family will gather at McMahan Baptist Church in McMahan, Texas following the interment.
