Constance “Connie” Marlene Sanders, 83, went to be with our Lord on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 in her home, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Connie was battling ALS and was in hospice care for two weeks, she died peacefully.

Connie was born Sept. 30, 1932 in Fredericksburg, Texas, the daughter of Minnie and James “Jim” Montanio.

She was a hard worker as she worked for IHOP for 30 years and afterwards doing things to help people. She was a caring person and had a great sense of humor. She loved doing ceramics and yardwork and most of all spending time with family.

She leaves her daughter, Suzy Simmons; daughter, Roblyn Mabry and husband, David; son, John “Johnny” Bierschwale and wife, Donna; daughter Michele “Mickey” Brietzke; and son, Raymond Brietzke and wife Cliceria “Click”; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Anthony Montanio and wife, Pat; brother, Paul Montanio and wife, Rickie; brother, Calvin Montanio; sister, Carmela Montanio. Also special to her heart, Les Orr and Danny Orr, Mary Schmidt, Ginger Hillert, Shannon Eichler, Tate Montalvo and Victor Sanders, who were like sisters and a brother to her.

She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Montanio; father, James “Jim” Montanio; brother, Jimmy Montanio; brother, Gene Montanio; sister, Rheeda Gullo; step-sisters, Irene Simmons, Ida Mae Harris and Leola Granoto; and son-in-law, Larry Simmons, Sr.

We all will miss her dearly. We love her and she will forever be in our hearts.
