Curtis O. Taylor, 79, of Dale, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2008 in Lockhart. He was born in Taylorsville, Texas on Nov. 2, 1928 to Trudo and Mattie (Harris) Taylor. He was third generation in Caldwell County, Texas.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lester and Marvin Taylor and an infant brother; one infant grandchild; and one infant step-gran

dchild.
Curtis married Doris Hellums on July 22, 1967 in Lockhart. He was a member of the Taylorsville Assembly of God, the American Legion and served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Doris Taylor; three sons, Curtis Wayne Taylor and wife, Diana of San Marcos, Danny Taylor of Lockhart, and Gary Taylor and wife, Susan, of Lockhart; step son, Kenneth Stepherson and wife, Kathie, of Erie, Pa.; four stepdaughters, LaVerne Weiss and husband, Carl, of Giddings, Carol Horton and husband, Rob, of Joseph City, Ariz., Ellen Mueller and husband, Doug, of Del Valle, and Tina Scheer and husband, Randy, of Austin; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Shane Acord, Allen Grohman, John Grohman, Robi Hellums, Tommy Taylor, Ernest Weiss, John Hinnenkamp and Paul Labermeyer. Honorary pallbearer was Ricky Taylor.
Visitation was held beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 at McCurdy Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008 at McCurdy Chapel with Pastor Charlie Pierson officiating. Burial followed at Jeffrey Cemetery, McMahan, Texas.
