David Ray Dossey, 73, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend was born on Sunday, Jan. 3, 1937, in Victoria, Texas to Ernest Dossey and Minnie (Mason) Dossey. He went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, in Houston, Texas with his loving family by his side.

David has been a resident of the Crosby area for the last two years af

ter moving from Arkansas. David, a native Texas was raised in Lockhart, where he graduated from Lockhart High School in 1956. He later worked for Pedernales Electric Coop, with whom he retired from as a district manager. While in Lockhart, David ministered at Staples Baptist Church and Clear Fork Baptist Church.

In David’s free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but what he loved more than anything were the times he shared with his family who he loved so dearly. David will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Joyce Ann Dossey; two sons, Michael Dossey and wife, Deborah, and Kenneth Dossey and wife, Bambi; grandchildren: Rebecca Dossey, Catherine Dossey, Hayley Dossey, Hannah Dossey, Hope Dossey and Hayden Dossey; great-grandson, Isaac; brother, E.L. Dossey; and numerous other family and friends.

A visitation was held on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Sterling-White Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Mineral Springs Cemetery near Lockhart.
