Delfina C. Serrano

Beloved mother Delfina C. Serrano, of Lockhart, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009. She was born in Mendoza, Texas, on Dec. 24, 1919, to Augustine and Cleofas Cisneros.

She is survived by her daughter, Cleo Sanchez, of Lockhart; three sons: Pete Serrano (Alice), of Martindale, Simon Serrano (Irene), of Springtown, Texas, and Joe Serrano (Elvira), of Nuevo Laredo; and two “special children,” Joe Flores and Mary Gonzalez, of Lockhart; 15 grandchildren: Richard Sepeda (Marilyn), of Ingleside, Texas, Robert Sepeda, of Amarillo, Amanda Sanchez, of Lockhart, Simon Serrano, III (Kristy), of Arlington, Roger Serrano (Beth), of Fort Worth, Patrick Serrano (Sofie) of Fort Worth, Craig Serrano, of Springtown, Liz Garcia (Josh), of San Marcos, Paul Serrano, of Austin, Letty Serrano, of Austin, and Luis, Billie, Cindy an Patricia Serrano, of Nuevo Laredo; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held from 5 – 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009. Rosary was held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at 7 p.m. The funeral was held on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Robert Becker officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Roger, Paul and Craig Serrano, Josh Garcia, Joe Flores and Augustine Ramirez.
