Donald Ernest Goeger, 92, passed away on Sept. 21, 2016.

He was born Sept. 10, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo., to Louis and Anna Goeger. On Aug. 8, 1948, he married Nan Frances Campbell in Phoenix, Ariz.

Donald served in the U.S. Army as a Radio Operator in the airborne division from March of 1943 to April of 1946. He achieved a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Geology from the Un

iversity of Missouri. He worked for Samedan Oil Company as a geologist in Ardmore, Okla., Lafayette, La., and Houston, Texas, for 26 years. Upon retiring in 1973, he and Nan purchased land in the Lockhart area to pursue his dream of ranching and cattle production.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nan; his daughters, Charlotte Rosenbaum and her husband, Dwight, and Marilyn Goeger; his sons, Doug Goeger and his wife Mare, and Jack Goeger and his wife, Sheila; his granddaughters, Melanie Hewlett and her husband, Mike, Alana Denham and her husband, Joel, and Nicole Doucet; his grandsons, Clifton Rosenbaum and his wife, Caroline, William Rosenbaum and his wife, Krista, Tad Goeger and his wife, Kim, Stoney Doucet, and Slade Doucet and Claire; his great-grandchildren: Ryan, Courtney, and Brady Hewlett, Tristan, Colby, and Gavin Denham, Tanner, Hudson, and Hattie Rosenbaum, Caleb Mastro, Zak and Eli Goeger, and Carli and Sterling Doucet.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Autumn Leaves for their care, love, and support for Donald and his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer”s Texas, http://www.txalz.org/ or the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org/donate. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Lockhart, Texas.
