Dorothy Saenz Sanders passed on Nov. 28, 2012. She was born to Lucia Sanchez and Henry Saenz of Victoria, Texas, on Sept. 1, 1918. Dorothy was married to Elton B. “Sandy” Sanders on June 29, 1946, and after his discharge from the military, they settled in Lockhart. They both loved ranching, fishing and hunting together.

Dorothy was an active member of the community through her association with the Ladies Auxiliary and participation as a volunteer Pink Lady at the local hospital.

At the time of her passing, she had been a resident at Chisholm Trail Nursing Home where she had many friends among the residents and staff.

She is survived by her sister, Trina Saenz Roberts, and was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Saenz Juarez, brother Henry “Sonny” Saenz, and husband, E.B Sanders. She will be remembered as a feisty and loving sister, aunt, friend and neighbor to many and will be sorely missed by all.

We will miss you and will not cry but rejoice in the memories you have graced us with for a lifetime.
