Echla Corean Kinsey, 93, of Lockhart, died Sunday, May 8, 2016 in Luling, Texas.
Mrs. Kinsey was born Nov. 17, 1922, in Colorado City, Texas to John and Nadie (Hale) Swann. She graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1941. Mrs. Kinsey served her country in the US Coast Guard during WWII and was a founding member of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in Washingto

n, D.C. She went on to complete 20 years of Civil Service with the Internal Revenue Service. She married Britt Kinsey on June 29, 1952, in Austin, Texas.  Mrs. Kinsey was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Lockhart, Texas, serving with the Altar Guild and with the Women of the Church during her many years of attendance.
She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years in 2001.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel Owens, Orlean Talbott, Teola Little, and her parents.
She is survived by her two sons: Gary Kinsey and wife, Jana, and David Kinsey and wife, Debbie; sister, Evelyn Hull, of Lake Travis; brother, Roy Earl Swann, of Spicewood; ten grandchildren: Chad Doan, Coy Kinsey, Travis Kinsey, Amanda Putman, John Kinsey, Nelson Kortis, Jacob Kinsey, Kara Johnson, Cortnie Chessher, Bo Grantham; and 14 great-grandchildren: Makinna Putman, Shelby Kinsey, Logan Kinsey, Jake Doan, Sophie Putman, Audrey Kinsey, Lylah Putman, Hadleigh Putman, Britt Kinsey, Lorelai Kinsey, Aynslie Chessher, Cannon Kortis, Charlotte Kortis, and Timothy Johnson, Jr.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 10, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services were scheduled on Wednesday, May 11, at 3:30 p.m., at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Lockhart with Father Tom Bruns officiating. Interment followed at the Lockhart City Cemetery.
