Elliott Lee McCurdy, a longtime resident of Lockhart, passed away on Oct. 1, 2016 at the age of 95. He was born on July 15, 1921, in Lockhart to Lee Mebane and Ione Lay McCurdy.

After graduating from Lockhart High School, Elliott enlisted in the United States Navy. He was very proud of his timed served.

Elliot returned to Lockhart, the town he loved. He walked daily aroun

d town making his way to Chisolm Trail Nursing Home where he visited his mother, Ione. Elliott would assist his mother with her coffee and have lunch with her. He also visited the loved ones who preceded him in death at Lockhart City Cemetery. Family was very important to him.

Elliot was fond of Chisolm Trail Nursing Home that he also became a resident there like his mother. He enjoyed the activities and the good cooking.

Elliott is survived by numerous cousins and several friends at Chisolm Trail Nursing Home.

The family would like to thank the staff and cooks at Chisolm Trail Nursing Home for their kind and wonderful care they had given Mr. McCurdy over the last several years.

A graveside service was held on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at Lockhart City Cemetery where he was laid to rest next to his parents.
