Emma Lue Sultemeier Mohle, 89, of Lockhart passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, surrounded by her loving family.
Emma Lue was born Feb. 25, 1927, in the Blanco County community of Sandy, the tenth child of A.D. and Emma Sultemeier.  After graduating from high school early, Emma Lue taught in Blanco County while attending the University of Texas for her undergraduate de

gree.  Emma Lue then went on to complete her graduate degree in business from Texas Tech University.
Upon graduation, Emma Lue returned to Blanco County to teach in Johnson City.  While teaching, she met and married Paul H. Mohle.  After time with the Soil Conservation Service in Childress, Texas, the couple returned to Paul”s hometown of Lockhart where Emma Lue continued to teach for the next 31 years.  After retiring, she and Paul enjoyed many years of traveling, time with family, dancing, dominoes, and active service with many church and civic groups.
She was active with United Methodist Women, Lockhart Legion Auxiliary, Friends of the Library, Soil and Water Conservation Board (15 years), VFW, Irving Club, Delta Kappa Gamma (50 years), VOE, Retired Teachers Association, Meals on Wheels, American Cancer Society, and overall best cookie and general baker ever, to name just a few.
Emma Lue was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters; and her loving husband of 57 years, Paul.  Emma Lue is survived by her daughters, Lue Ann Meyers and husband, Otto, and Emi Lee Norris and husband, Charles. She is also survived by four grandchildren: William Meyers and wife, Gabbie, Anna Meyers, Ava Norris and Wesley Norris, as well as one great-grandchild, William Paul Meyers, II.
Visitation will be 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016, at McCurdy Funeral Home, Lockhart, Texas.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 23, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, Lockhart, Texas.
Interment will be at 3 p.m. at the Post Oak Cemetery near Johnson City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church Lockhart, 313 W. San Antonio, Lockhart, Texas, 78644 or the Post Oak Cemetery (c/o Perry Sultemeier) 5421 RR 1323, Johnson City, Texas, 78626.

    So sorry to hear this. Had her for a teacher, worked for the family at the Post-Register, and considered her a friend. She will be missed by many. Prayers for the family through this difficult time.

    Such a lovely person! She will be missed from Irving Club, and well remembered by all her friends in Lockhart.

    Oh Mrs. Mohle, it seems like yesterday that you were sharing your wisdom
    with me during our VOE class. You were so gentle in your praises & you helped
    me recognize my talents & skills. At that point in my life, I was so impressionable
    and you knew just what to say. Your guidance, kindness & skills helped me develop
    in my initial stages of growth. You pointed me in the right direction & nurtured me
    along the way. Your smile will forever be imprinted in my thoughts. Heaven
