Evelyn Mae Red entered into Eternity on July 1, 2008, at the age of 75. Evelyn was the only sister of Beverly Fiscus, a former resident of Prairie Lea.
Evelyn was born on March 8, 1933. She and her husband of 59 years, Gene, lived in Bell Chasse, La., for 50 years before they relocated to Moundville, Ala., after Hurricane Katrina.
Evelyn loved the Lord and always

passed His word to others, through both her words and her actions. She was a beautiful, loving wife, a warm and giving mother and grandmother, a best friend to her sister, and an amazing aunt.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, taking in the beauty of God’s nature, and had a smile and warm embrace for everyone. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her – her family in particular.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Celeste M. Kabel, and her grandparents, Alfred and Tarzeal Engeron, all of New Orleans.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Clarence Gene Red; her children, Karen Hunter and husband, Herman, Robin Watkins and husband, Barry, Sheri Tillie and husband, John, and Terry Red and wife, Tracy, all of Alabama; her sister and brother-in-law, Jerry and Beverly Fiscus, of San Marcos; nephew and Godson Brian Fiscus and wife, Sherry, of San Marcos; nieces and nephews, Donna Rusher and husband, Rodney, and Theresa Brown and husband, Randy, of Illinois, Jo-Ann Button, Cathy Camaradelle and Mike Fiscus and wife, Paula, of Prairie Lea, Mary Sherwood, of Belton, Angie Tusing, of Iowa, and Chris Fiscus and wife, Angela, of Tennessee.
Na-nan, as she was known to her nieces and nephews, also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Arrangements were handled under the care and direction of Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South, 6100 Old Greensboro Rd., Tuscaloosa, Ala., 35405.
