He purchased a place at Red Rock, Texas where he farmed and ranched for thirty-six and a half years until the year 2000. After Mayme, his wife of 61 years died, he married her sister, Blanche Bell. He decided to retire and they moved to Arkansas, Dec. 12, 2000. They were married seven years.

Fred was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a fine Christian man and a soul winner. Fred was a prayer warrior and when he prayed many of his prayers were answered. He was a Deacon for many years at Allendale Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, and more than 36 years at McMahan Baptist Church. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Yellville, Ark., until his death. He taught Sunday School to 9 and 10 year old boys for over 30 years. He had the privilege of leading most of those boys to the Lord.
Fred had a sense of humor and loved to tell stories and laugh at himself. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and always included his family. He was so special to many people and will be greatly missed.
