George Jones
George A. Jones, 89, of McMahan, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at 9:25 p.m. in Austin, Texas. Mr. Jones was born on June 9, 1921, in Myrtle Creek, Ore., to John Walter Lee Jones and Elector Caroline (Callie) Berry Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola G. Jones, his parents; daughter, Annette Jones; brothers, Robinson Otto ‘Jack’ Jones, John Henry Co
rnelious Jones, Rueben Reed Jones, John Walter Ivan Jones, Mace Horace Jones; and sisters, Birdie Veleta Braden, Mary Mattie Butler, Minnie Violet Caraway, Lula MaeWilliams.
He is survived by his sons, Gary Jones and wife, Donna, of Lockhart, Tim Jones and wife, Pam, of McMahan, and James Jones and wife, Stacey, of McMahan; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jones, Tracy Bell, Courtney Jones, Ashley Jones, Christa Jones, Kathy Vann, Jennifer Tullous, Kayla Parker, Samantha Parker and Jim Parker; and great-grandchildren, Riley Mills, Sky Jordan, Ethan Bell, Austin Tullous, Brady Tullous, Carson Tullous and Alexandra Jones.
Visitation was held on Feb. 11, 2011, at McCurdy Funeral Home. Services were held Feb. 12, 2011, at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Interment followed at Jeffrey Cemetery in McMahan. Elder Hulan Bass officiated.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Mr. Jones honor be made to the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.
