Janice E. Barnes 77 went home peacefully in her sleep to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006. She was born on Nov. 18, 1929 to Lloyd Ellis and Ida Loreen Heard Ellis. Janice was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Loreen Heard Ellis and her son, James Robert Nolley. Janice”s main passion was spending time with her extensive family. She was e

mployed for 28 years by Eckert Insurance as a Certified Professional Secretary. Janice was a proud member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and Austin Road Riders Association where she and her husband were instrumental in leading worship services at motorcycle rallies for 22 years. She was listed in the publication of Notable Woman of Texas. For many years she was member of the University Baptist Church choir. At her passing she was a faithful and active member of Lytton Springs Baptist Church where she was serving as Church Clerk.
Janice is survived by her husband, Charles Barnes of Dale, Texas; her two daughters, Patricia Jackson and husband Curtis of Buda, Elva Janice Bryant and her husband Wally of Dale; daughter-in-law, Ann Nolley of Kerrville; daughter Kenita Barnes-Fendley and husband Richard of Cleveland, Texas; sons: Loyd Barnes and wife Patsy of Dale; Mark Barnes of Austin; Mathew “Corky” Barnes and wife Robyn of Waco, and Jonathan Barnes of Kenedy, Texas; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grand children.
Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006 at Eeds Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Lytton Springs Baptist Church in Lytton Springs with Reverend Ron Danley and Rev. Bob Griffith officiating. Interment followed at the Maxdale Cemetery at Maxdale, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers were Adam Nolley, Daniel Nolley, Mike Wilkins, Loyd Barnes, Mark Barnes, Matthew (Corky) Barnes, Daniel Barnes, Matthew Paul Barnes. Funeral arrangements with Eeds Funeral Home, 408 South Main , Lockhart, Texas 78644. (512) 398-2343
