Joe Carroll Woody

Joe Carroll Woody, Jr., 63, of Lockhart died peacefully in his wife Cathey’s loving arms on July 16, 2010. He was born in San Marcos, Texas, to Joe C. Woody, Sr., and Mary Jane Koehler Woody on April 30, 1947. Joe moved to McMahan at age 5 and attended Lockhart public schools until graduation. He worked for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealerships for 11 years in Lockhart, Au

stin, Dallas and San Antonio. Joe changed to automotive sales in 1976 and started his own automotive sales business with Cathey in 1987. As his three sons came of age they joined their parents in the family business. Joe was loved and respected by family, friends and customers alike.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and beloved sister, Ethel Faye.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Cathey. He is also survived by three sons: James and wife, Chandel, Michael and Matt; three grandchildren: Nathan, Madeline and Joe, III; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 19, 2010, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Eeds Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas. Gravesides services were held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the Lockhart City Cemetery, with Terry Bozarth officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were: James Woody, Michael Woody, Matt Woody, David Lowe, Joey Markowitz, Greg Merka, Greg Patterson, Jeff Patterson and Chris Patterson.

It was Joe’s wish that memorial contributions be made to: Vistacare, 1911 Corporate Drive #104, San Marcos, Texas, 78666.
