John Frank Hoke, Jr., 83, passed away on Dec. 7, 2009. He was born in Guadalupe County, Texas, to John and Tiny Hoke. John is survived by his wife, Bettie Hoke of Kingsbury, Texas; his daughter, Deborah Hayden and husband, Keith, and their children, Hunter and Shelby, of Quincy, Ill.; son, Barry Neal Hoke and wife, Monte, Christopher and wife, Marisa, and their little girl H

ailey due Jan.9, 2010, Delamarie Hoke and Johnclifton Hoke; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded by his parents, John frank Hoke, Sr., and Tiny Ruth Collins Hoke; and brother, Buddy Hoke and his wife, Norma.

John loved his family, and has a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Kingsbury Baptist Church.

After retiring from the Mobile Corporation, John spent his time taking care of his herd and his ranch, on which he loved to ride his tractor. John so loved his retirement working on the ranch, watching the beautiful Texas sunsets and, of course, his homemade ice cream.

A visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, from 5 – 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Goetz Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, beginning at 2 p.m., with interment services to follow in the Kingsbury Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in his honor to the American Parkinson”s Disease Association, American Cancer Society or to the Kingsbury Baptist Church.
