John Simmang was born in Bitburg Germany on July 7, 1977 and went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2014. John died at the Hacienda Oaks Nursing and

Rehabilitation Center in Seguin, Texas.

John is survived by his wife, Amber Renee Simmang, of San Antonio; children John Bradford Simmang, of San Marcos and daughter Victoria Marie Simmang, of Austin; stepchildren Evan, Taylor

and Katie Mosher, of Alabama; father, John Simmang and step-mother, Betsy Simmang of San Antonio; mother, Nancy Simon, and stepdad, Brad Simon, of Lockhart; grandmothers, Maxine J. Simmang, of San Antonio, Wilma Rae Simon, of Lockhart, Lucy Watters, of San Antonio, and Eunice Trainer, of Kirby; brother, Timothy Travis Simon, of Stephenville; sister, Ashley Nicole Simon, of Lockhart; step-brothers Arnold Rabel and Bradley Rabel, both of San Antonio; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephew and nieces. He is also survived by a host of loving friends.

John was raised in, Lockhart, Texas and graduated from Lockhart High School in 1995. John was added to the Lord’s church in 1987. In 1996, John joined the U.S. Army and was discharged in 2003.

John worked as a postman, in sales, and ended as a truck driver for United Truck Rentals. John was also a Mason and member of Bluebonnet Lodge 192 of New Braunfels.

John loved fishing, motorcycle riding and singing. He was a devoted father and loved his family dearly.

A memorial service and celebration of John’s life was held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Lockhart Church of Christ. To celebrate John’s memory, the family suggests a memorial contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project, or to a traumatic brain injury charity of your choice.
