L.M. “Mac” Fairchild, 80, of Harwood, died June 12, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born in Big Spring, Texas on Dec. 1, 1924 to Mitchell Cleve Fairchild and Frances Emma Vaughan.
He served with the U.S. Air Force in World War II and in Korea. He was a member of the Hoskinsville Masonic Lodge #183 AF & AM in Waelder, Texas, and a 60-year member of the Ame

rican Legion Post in Luling. He was also a member of the Harwood Baptist Church.
“Mac” was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Willard McAllister, Monroe Stump Fairchild, Sam Scrap Fairchild, R.M. Fairchild and James M. Fairchild; and one sister, Florence Fairchild Davidson.
He is survived by his sister, Leona Singleton of Brownwood, Texas and brother, Hoot C. Fairchild of Harwood.
The family received friends at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15. Funeral services will be held at the Seydler-Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Harwood City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Monroe Fairchild; Gerald Fairchild; Wain Fairchild; James M. Fairchild and Danny Pool.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Harwood Baptist Church or to the Hopkinsville Masonic Lodge.
