Larry Paul Simmons Sr., 63, of Lockhart, passed away at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Corpus Christi on June 28, 1948, to Paul Hardie and Delphine Larose (Draeger) Simmons.

Larry was married to Suzette Simmons August 31, 1969 for 42 years. He worked for HEB 24 years and Lockhart Ford Shop for more than 20 years.

immons; son, Larry Simmons Jr., and wife, Michelle Simmons; sister, Paula Simmons; and seven grandchildren: Alexis, Brandi, Breelyn, Brittney, Jessica, Jonathan and Trey

Visitation was held, Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at McCurdy Funeral Home.

A celebration of Larry’s life was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Maxwell, Texas. The burial followed at Ebenezer Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Richard Hess, Brad Gabbart, Randy Gabbart, Bennie Dake, Raymond Brietzke and Johnny Bierschwale. Honorary pallbearers were were Robert Hannas, David Mabry, Keith Koehler, and Lockhart Ford Motor Company.

    I had known Larry for a very long time. He was kind, gentle and a good listener. I will miss him dearly and I hope his family will find peace. I just found out today. God Bless.
