Lloyd White, 90, of Lockhart, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2010, in New Braunfels, Texas. He was born on Jan. 2, 1920, in Huntsville, Texas, to John Eldridge and Flora Elliott (Wyche) White.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy M. White; three brothers; and one sister.

ry, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Robert White and wife, Marilyn, of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Lloy Lizcano and husband, Julio, of Austin, and Joyce Hughson, of New Braunfels, Texas; brother, Wilbur Ray and wife, Linda, of Moore, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Lockhart. He served his country in Europe during WWII as a fighter pilot prior to and after D-Day. He flew more than 100 missions from 1940 – 1945 and was honorably discharged in the rank of Captain. He retired as Station Director from the NASA Tracking Station in Corpus Christi, Texas. He and his wife, Dorothy, loved to travel and visited 48 of the 50 states.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to a local hospice or charity of choice.

Family planned to receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at McCurdy Funeral Home. Funeral services were scheduled at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010, at McCurdy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Hahn officiating, with interment following at the Lockhart City Cemetery in Lockhart, Texas.
