Mrs. Lova M. Priddy, 83, of Lockhart passed away peacefully in Austin on May 23, 2011. She was born on Sept. 29, 1927, in Slocum, Texas, to Joseph and Elizabeth Dickey.

Lova was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Orlene, Weoda and Nancy; and brothers, Burtis, Curtis and Buddy.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James (“Jim”) Priddy, of Lockhart; da

ughter, Ann and husband, Allen Vargas, of Austin; son, Joe Priddy and wife, Linda, of Santa Maria, Calif.; sister, Hila Sue and husband, Wyman Wilkerson, of Lumberton, N.C.; four grandchildren: Adam, of Santa Barbara, Calif., Jared, of San Jose, Calif., Caleb, of Fresno, Calif., and Sarah and her husband, Tyler Sanders, of Scottsdale, Ariz. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends, especially Doris Marshall.

She was an active member and officer of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 41, and the First United Methodist Church Women”s Circle. Lova was well known for her love of baking. Her famous “Sad Cake Bars” were always a hit at any function.

A memorial service has been scheduled at the First United Methodist Church in Lockhart, Texas, on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert Hahn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Legion Women”s Auxiliary or First United Methodist Church in Lockhart.
