Max F. Ehrlich, 89, passed away on Sept. 19, 2016.  He was born on March 6, 1927 in Creedmoor, Texas, to Gustav and Elsie (Wagner) Ehrlich.  His father died in 1933 when Max was 6-and-a-half years of age.  Max grew up on his paternal grandfather’s, Max L. Ehrlich’s farm in Mendoza, Texas.
His love for farming and ranching was inspired by his grandfather.  Max began far

ming in 1948 and ranching in 1953.  He retired from farming in 1990.  He continued ranching until 2006 when health problems no longer allowed it.  He was an avid gardener.  After retirement, he enjoyed drives out in the country to see God’s miracles at work.
He graduated from Lytton Springs High School and Nixon Clay Commercial College.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  Max was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Onion Creek Masonic Lodge # 220, and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 8925.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris Ehrlich; one daughter, Kathye Strouse and husband, Jack, of Buda; one grandson, Jason Strouse, of Missouri City, Texas; one granddaughter, Katelyn Reinhart and husband, Justin, of North Versailles, Pa.; and one sister, Lillian Lippe, of Seguin,Texas.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.  Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m. following visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 409 West Ben White Freeway, Austin, Texas, 78704, or a charity of one’s choosing.

    We were sorry to learn of the death of Max. Billy grew up a neighbor of the Ehrlich family. We know he will be missed. May God comfort you in your sorrow.
