Michael Scott Harlan, 39, of Richardson, passed away on June 20, 2008.
Michael graduated from Westwood High School in Austin, and worked as a self-employed building contractor. Michael was loved and embraced by his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Georgia Ann Bradley of Richardson; father, Vernon Harlan and wife

, Peggy, of Pottsboro; sons, Cody Harlan and Caine Harlan; daughter, Chelsea Harlan; brother, Matt Harlan and wife, Darlyne, of Cedar Park; grandmother, Lily Harlan of Sherman; aunts, Sandra Archer and husband, Mickey, of Garland, Cheryl Riley and husband, Steve, of Richardson, and Elaine Agather and husband, Neils, of Dallas; uncles, Jerry Harlan and wife, Debbie, and Melvin Harlan, all of Sherman. He is also survived by his cousins: Brad Riley and wife, Debbie, Todd Riley and wife, Maurisa, Jennifer Whaley and husband, Kevin, Luke Archer, Bradley Agather, Lorene Agather, Don Harlan and wife, Lee, Mary Martha Russell and husband, Paul, E.V. Harlan and wife, Carrie, and Scott Harlan; several second cousins, and a host of friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Lorene Bradley and E.V. Harlan.
Family night was on Sunday, June 22, 2008, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Randy Reddell of the Central Christian Church of Sherman officiated the services and burial followed at the Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Sherman. Pallbearers were Brad Riley, Todd Riley, Luke Archer and Kevin Whaley.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a trust fund for Michael’s children, in care of Elaine Agather at J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc., Mail Code TX 1-2966, 2200 Ross Ave., 10th Floor, Dallas, Texas 75201.
