Mike T. Kalinowski, 76, of Kirby passed away March 24, 2008. He was born on Aug. 23,1931, in Lockhart, Texas, to Zigmund and Cecilia (Tomczyk) Kalinowski.
He served on the city council in Kirby for six years, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was the inventor of The Toothpick Dispenser.
Mr. Kalinowski is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marie Kalinowsk

i; son, Michael Z. Kalinowski and his wife Janet of Schertz; daughter, Michelle Barber and her husband Greg of Tomball, Texas; four grandchildren, Kyla, Krysa, Rebekah and Abigail; brothers, Pete Mahula and Andy Priess; sister, Cecilia Reinhard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was scheduled on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, from 5 – 8 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Kirby. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary”s Catholic Church, 205 West Pecan St., Lockhart, Texas. Interment will follow at Polonia Cemetery near Lockhart.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
