Mildred Arnold

Mildred (Schneider) Arnold, 96, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 23, 2014 at Emeritus at San Marcos Assisted Living facility. She was born Aug. 19, 1918 in Uhland, Texas. Her parents were Willie J. and Frieda (Schaeffer) Schneider. Mildred married Alton Arnold June 29, 1938, in Uhland and they were married over 50 years until his death in 1997. They had no children. s survived by a sister-in-law, nine nephews and nieces and various extended family members.

Mildred was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Texas and served with a passion for over 50 years in various capacities. She was initiated into Eastern Star in Lockhart, Texas in 1956. She served as Worthy Matron a number of times – in Lockhart Chapter in 1963, Seguin in 1997-98, and twice in San Marcos 1991-92 and 2000-01. She also served as Deputy Grand Matron in 1966-67. Mildred was a Lifetime Endowed Member in both Seguin and San Marcos.

Visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at Pennington Funeral Home in San Marcos. Funeral Services will be held in the Pennington Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale.
