Philip passed peacefully into Heaven with his loving family present on April 26, 2012.
Born on Dec. 2, 1945 and a native Austinite, he was the son of Isaac Nohra and Marie Joseph Nohra. He graduated from Austin High School and majored in History at Southwest Texas State University.
He owned and operated Capitol Coin Company at 3004 Guadalupe in Austin for many years. After closing the retail location, he continued to broker transactions in precious metals and rare coins in Lockhart and Luling. Eventually he expanded to include antiques and fine arts.
He loved his family and was loved in return. His parents and sister, Ester Ann Marie Nohra, preceded him in death, as well as his nephew, Larry Nohra, Jr.
He is survived by sisters, Matilda Attal, Doris Joseph and husband, Robert and Lola Larivee and husband, Joe; brothers, Larry Nohra and wife, Margie, and Isaac Nohra and Tracy, as well as many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and numerous cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held May 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church located at 500 E. Travis St. in Luling, Texas. Co-celebrants of the Mass are Reverends Howard Goertz and Jim Olnhausen.
Ashes will be interred at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Austin, Texas, at 2:30 p.m.
