Phyllis Ann Crawford

Phyllis Ann Crawford

Phyllis Ann Crawford fought a good fight, but was called home by the good Lord on Monday morning, Jan. 24. Phyllis, 57, of San Marcos, left this world for everlasting life after battling more than a year with cancer.

Phyllis touched the lives of many people with her big smile and kind heart, and was surrounded by family and friends in her final days.

She lived her life for her daughters, Jenna Raine Crawford and Rachel Ann Crawford. She could talk your ears off about how proud of and how much she loved her girls — they were truly her world and her passion.

Phyllis loved the ocean and butterflies, both kindred to her open arms and free spirit. Her smile would light up any room and she gave hope and courage to many. She will live eternally in all our hearts.

Phyllis was born in Norfolk, Va., on Sept. 18, 1953, to Richard Breitenbach Michelson and Barbara Ann Jacoby. She did taxes at H&R Block of Lockhart for 16 years and was well known and loved among her many clients.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and beloved cat, Shanny.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughters, Jenna and fiancé, John
Fritz, of Brenham, and Rachel, of San Marcos; her sisters, Marcia Wentworth, husband, Bill, and their daughter, Stephanie Stone, of Michigan, and Susan Paquin and husband, Jack, of Michigan; her brother, Tom Michelson, his wife, Eilene, and their daughters, Lindsey, Amy and Michelle, of Colorado; and friends.

Viewing is at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels, 1254 Business 81 N., New Braunfels, Texas, from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011. Friends and family also are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at 6 p.m. at HY Price Jr. Senior Center, 222 W. San Antonio St., San Marcos, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to 1607 Mockingbird Dr., San Marcos, Texas,78666.

“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith,” from 2 Timothy 4:6-7.
