Robert Thomas McGee, 84, of Luling passed away on Thursday, Jan. 6 2005. He had been at Hillcrest Manor for the past few years.
He was born to Mamie Adams and Robert Terrell McGee in McMahan on Nov. 16, 1920. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Terrell T. McGee; and grandson, Robert (Rob) Ellis McCelvey.
He is survived by his wife, Marguriete El

lis McGee of Luling; daughter Merilynn and husband James Tullous of Martindale; daughter Jacquelynn (Jackie) and husband Johnny McClain of Dilley; grandson, T.J. McClain of Dilley; granddaughter Patrece and husband Clayton Coblentz of Grapevine; and six great-grandchildren: David, Jael, Deborah, Gabrielle, Ethan and Anna Rose, all of Grapevine.
He worked in the oil field in Luling, Winnsboro and Hallettsville for Magnolia/Mobil Oil Co. and retired as a pumper for Harter Oil Co. in Luling. He served in the Army Air Corp, worked for the state as a boiler inspector and farmed and ranched in Caldwell County. He was an avid Cowboy fan and domino player.
He will be remembered as a sweet, kind and quiet man that loved his family and left them with many wonderful memories. He had a soft smile, a twinkle in his eye and usually a cup of coffee close at hand.
Special thanks must be given to Warm Springs for making arrangements for his wife, Marguriete, to attend all of the services; she has been a patient there since Dec. 1. Sincere thanks to the folks at Hillcrest that loved him and cared for him.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 7 in Lockhart at McCurdy Funeral home and burial at Jeffery Cemetery in McMahan, Texas. Pallbearers were: Raymond Henry, Paul McGee, Tom Montgomery, Mike Hendricks, RB. McCelvey and Duke Fairchild. Honorary pallbearers were Roger Ellis and Bob McGee.
