Ronald Edward Bessire was born April 9, 1944. He was the son of Milton C. and Aileen Kirpatrick Bessire, of Abilene, Texas.

Ron passed from this life on Feb. 11, 2013, at Warm Springs Rehab Hospital in Luling. He attained the age of 68 Years.

Ron grew up in Abilene and at an early age enjoyed visiting his granddad’s farm outside of town, going hunting and fishing. His f

amily moved to Wisconsin for a period of time and then back to Abilene. Ron moved to the Central Texas area working in various jobs in the oil field, auto sales and parts delivery. He recently retired and enjoyed spending time at the farm in Paige.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Aileen Bessire and sister, Amy Bessire.

Ron is survived by his wife, Ora Koehler, of Lockhart, Texas; his son, Ron Bessire and wife, Kim, and their children, Julianna and Alexander, of Pearland, Texas; stepdaughter, Michelle Drozd and husband, Leslie, and their children, Hailey, Hannah and Haven, of Hallettsville, Texas; stepson, Michael Koehler and friend, Misty Dyer, and her children, Allen and Alexis, of Bastrop; mother-in-law, Ruby Stiewert, of Paige, Texas; his brother, Don Bessire and wife, Carol, of Mesa, Ariz., and his sister, Debbie Bessire, of Brownswood, Texas; also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at McCurdy Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart. Interment to follow at Paint Creek Cemetery in Paige.

    I remember one of Ron’s favorite songs on the radio when he was in Madison, Wisconsin–Hello Mary Lou.
