Ruby Mae Bingham, 87, of Lockhart, passed away Monday June 7, 2010. She was born July 30, 1922, in Leon County, Texas, to William Andrew Thompson and Lila Lee Smith Thompson.

Ruby married W.S. Bingham in Lockhart on Dec. 24, 1941.

She was a member of the Lockhart Church of Christ and had been a member of the Lockhart VFW Auxiliary.

Ruby was an excelle

nt cook and enjoyed preparing meals and caring for her family and their home. She loved to work in her vegetable garden and canned much of her produce. Ruby was a talented seamstress, making many shirts for her son and dresses for herself.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Bingham, of Lockhart. She was a preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Inez Sheppard; and a brother, Chester Thompson.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday June 10, 2010, in the O’Bannon Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bob Hailey officiating. Interment followed in the Luling City Cemetery. Prior to the service, the family received friends at O’Bannon Funeral Home from 9 – 11 a.m.
