Ruth Ella Miller, born July 3, 1916, in Tilmon, departed this life on Aug. 25, 2014.

Born 
to Tilmon and Sedelia French Barnett, she was the second of six children. She accepted Christ as her Lord and 
Savior at an early age at Daniel Chapel Methodist Church in Tilmon. She continued to love 
and trust in Jesus through all of her trials and tribulations during her life.

She attended school 
in Tilmon, and was united in marriage to the late James Miller.

To this union nine children were born; two of those children, Mackey Joe and Terallee, preceded her in death.

Later in life, when she relocated to 
Lockhart, she followed God”s gift to her which was cooking and was employed as a nurse”s aide.
She joined St. Mark United Methodist Church, which she loved. She vigilantly served in the 
kitchen. She loved God and her church, her family, gardening, cooking and holiday family 
gatherings.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Jerdine Butler, of San Antonio, James E. Miller, 
Jr., of San Antonio, Tommy Miller, of Austin, Jean Ester Columbus, of San Antonio,William A. 
Miller (Elaine), of San Antonio, Theodore Miller (Shirley), of San Marcos, and Erma Henderson, of Austin; and loving daughter-in-law, Lula Miller, of San Antonio. She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Bernice, Willie, John, Ervin, Mamie, Tilmon and Mamie.

A visitation was held at Eeds Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, from 5 – 8 p.m. Funeral services were held at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at 11 a.m. Burial followed at the Fleming Cemetery in McMahan Cemetery.
