Shelby Lynne Forester, 16, of Lumberton, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

Born in Fresno, Calif., on March 19, 1994, Shelby had lived in Lumberton for seven years. She was a junior at Lumberton High School where she was an active member of the

varsity tennis team. She was a great student and an academic leader. Shelby loved music and next to her family, her friends were most important in her life.

Shelby is survived by her parents, Robert and Michelle Forester of Lumberton; sister, Hailey Forester, of Lumberton; grandparents, Charles and Lonnie Forester, of Fentress, Texas, and Barbara Aeledge, of Fred, Texas; great-grandparents, Bill Bramblett, of Fred, Texas and Doris Green, of Canyon Lake, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Cathedral in The Pines, 2350 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, Texas under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. A gathering of family and friends was held on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made in Shelby’s name to the Lumberton High School Tennis Program, 103 South LHS Drive, Lumberton, Texas  77657.

    I didnt know shelby personally, I’ve never seen her in person at all, but for some reason today she is on my mind..my heart still goes out to her family. i couldnt imagine.. fly high pretty girl..
