Letters – Reader cautions neighbors about Agenda 21

To the Editor:

I have been called a liar and conspiracy theorist. Last year one local elected official at a Republican meeting dismissed UN Agenda 21; comparing it to black helicopters flying overhead. He was overheard by many in attendance.

On Jan. 13, 2012, the Republican National Committee validated UN Agenda 21’s existence b

y unanimously voting in a resolution warning the public and their elected (local) officials about “the destructive and insidious nature of UN Agenda 21” with its “dangerous intent.”

The RNC’s Resolution states that UN Agenda 21 is “a comprehensive plan of extreme environmentalism, social engineering and global political control… being covertly pushed into local communities …through the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) and local sustainable development policies;.. Smart Growth, Regional Visioning Projects and other ‘Green’ or ‘Alternative’ projects.”

This agenda views “private property ownership, single family homes, private car ownership,” and  “privately owned farms”… “as destructive to the environment.”

Therefore, the RNC “endorse(s) rejection of these radical policies and rejection of any grant monies attached to (them). Furthermore, the RNC calls UN Agenda 21’s view of ‘social justice’ as being “accomplished by socialist/communist redistribution of wealth…as it deems our present National Sovereignty a “social injustice…”

The RNC feels so strongly toward rejecting ‘sustainable developments’ and other entities affiliated with UN Agenda 21, that they have sent copies of their resolution to all Republican members of congress and candidates and to the candidates for president. They are recommending this resolution be adopted into this year’s RNC party platform. (You can download a copy of this resolution from: www.republicanassemblies.org)

What about Democrats? They too are now aware of the dangers of accepting grant monies promoting these local anti-freedom policies.  www.democratsagainstunagenda21.com

Unfortunately, we already have several anti-freedom policies here in Caldwell County. A group of us have linked our ‘subdivision ordinance’ and the ‘plum creek protection plan’ to a ‘regional visioning project’ (Envision Central Texas) and grant monies have been accepted to further these projects.

Our county has accepted grant monies from several organizations that are backing ‘Environmental Justice’ (www.CAMPOTexas.org) referring to areas meeting criteria of the population living at or below federal poverty levels, percentage minority, etc..

CAMPO (Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization), CAPCOG (Capital Area Council of Governments) and ECT (Envision Central Texas) have banded together using grant monies from HUD (Housing and Urban Development) promoting a “sustainability” development project here in Lockhart (Post-Register, Dec. 15, 2011).

We elected our city and county leaders to Protect Our Freedoms; not to allow unfair taxation, fines, permits and strict regulations and to honor our constitutions of Texas and the United States of America.

We were promised a “transparent” local government; not one filled with ‘surprise’ purchases, attempts to strip our treasurer of an ‘elected’ financial duty, enlarging our county government (not substantiated by population), and accepting grant monies with ‘anti-freedom’ strings attached.

What do you want? Monies for projects (paved roads, etc.) with their ‘anti-freedom’ strings OR fair property taxation and keeping private ownership of our land?
