To the Editor:
I would like to thank two individuals who went out of their way to help my son after a bicycle accident near the soccer fields on Thursday, July 25.
Around 4:30 p.m. last Thursday, my son Jordan was out for a bike ride with his sister, a friend and me. He had an accident and crashed.
Two city workers, Marciella Garcia and Ronnie Courson were mowing nearby. They saw the accident and knew that it was severe. They called EMS for us, gave my son ice to hold on his head and wrist, and water to drink and to rinse off his knee and elbow. They stayed with us until help arrived.
We learned later that my son broke his arm in two different locations when he fell.
Our family believes these two individuals deserve a public thank you for their kindness and their help.
