Paul B. Schuelke, 79, passed away in Glen Rose, Texas, on Tuesday, May 5, 2009.

Mr. Schuelke was born in Niederwald, Texas, on Sept. 4, 1929, to Arthur and Nellie Boesel Schuelke. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a graduate of McMurry College, where he played football.

Mr. Schuelke moved to Glen Rose in 1952. For 35

of his 39 years as a coach and teacher, he served the children of Glen Rose, and he held the position of Head Coach and Athletic Director for 19 years.

Mr. Schuelke is survived by his sons: Mike Schuelke and wife, Candy, of Ft. Worth, and Glen Schuelke and wife, Carrie, of Paris; his daughter, Debra Brownson and husband, Tim, of Pharr; former wife, Mary Lou Schuelke, of Glen Rose; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers: Lee Schuelke and wife, Velda, of Lago Vista, and Royce Schuelke and wife, Cynthia, of Pearland; sister, Susie Roach and husband, Wesley, of Buda; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held on Friday, May 8, 2009, at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose, Texas. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Wiley Funeral Home, with burial following in the Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow.
