PUBLIC NOTICE CALDWELL COUNTY INVITATION FOR BIDS

 

Caldwell County will be accepting sealed bids for:

 

Construction of the

following three county roads:

Old Fentress Road (CR 217), Westwood Road (CR 215), and Cherryville Parkway (CR 110)

To submit proposals for this contract, prospective bidders shall, on Monday, September 28, 2015, meet the following requirements: (1) be qualified via “Confidential Questionnaire” by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for bidding on State projects or within the ninety (90) day grace period for the preparation of a new qualification statement, or have submitted the Confidential Questionnaire and have it on file with TxDOT at least ten (10) days prior to the date proposals are to be opened; (2) be registered with the State of Texas; and (3) provide suitable evidence of prior experience for similar work and be able to provide written documentation of successfully completed similar contracts.

 

Plans, specifications, and bidding documents for pre-qualified bidders and interested non-bidders may be secured from CivCast’s website (www.civcastusa.com) beginning Sunday, September 6, 2015.

 

Bid security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, issued by an acceptable surety company or in the form of a certified or cashier’s check, must accompany each bid as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into a proper contract and execute bonds and guaranties within ten (10) days after the date contract documents are received by the awarded contractor. Performance and payment bonds will be required as stated in the bidding documents.

The Caldwell-Hays ESD 1 will hold a meeting at 7:00 PM on September 29, 2015 at 9835 FM 1854, Dale, TX 78616 to consider adopting a proposed tax rate for tax year 2015. The proposed tax rate is 0.100000 per $100 of value.

The proposed tax rate would increase total taxes in Caldwell-Hays ESD 1 by 5.263158 percent.

The City Council of the City of Martindale will conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2015-16 Budget at its meeting at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 and again on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Martindale City Hall Meeting Room, 411 Main Street, Martindale, Texas 78655. Any person may attend and may participate in the hearing.

This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year”s budget by $13,351, a 3.069266% increase, and of that amount, $6,195.80 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.

Ordinances establishing the budget and property tax rates for the year October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016 will be considered on September 22, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers, Clark Library Annex, 217 South Main Street, 3rd Floor, Lockhart, Texas. All interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend the hearing.
