Lockhart Independent School District offers courses in Career and Technical Education in the following clusters: Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, Arts, AV/Technology and Communication, Business, Management and Administration, Education and Training, Information Technology, Health Science, Hospitality and Tourism, Human Services, Marketing, Sales and Service and Transportation, Distribution and Logistics.

NOTICE OF PERMIT

APPLICATION  TO

RE-EQUIP AN EXISTING EXEMPT WELL FOR

IRRIGATION

Jordan Beeman, P.O. Box 628, Flatonia, Texas has submitted an application for a permit to the Gonzales County Underground Water Conservation District (GCUWCD) to re-equip an exempt water well for irrigation use. The proposed well is located approximately 1.5 miles southeast of the community of Thompsonville at 635 County Road 423 in Gonzales County. Mr. Beeman proposes to produce approximately 200 acre feet of water per year per well at an average rate of approximately 124 gallons pet· minute on approximately 813 acres of contiguous land. Mr. Beeman is also requesting an exception to the District”s spacing rules. The well is completed in the Queen City Aquifer.

 

The GCUWCD  Rules in effect at the  time of this permit application submittal are the March 16, 2010 Rules. Permit notice and hearing procedures are included in Rule 24. Copies of the GCUWCD”s March 16, 2010  rules are available at the GCUWCD office located at 920 Saint Joseph Street, Room 129, Gonzales, Texas 78629 ot· online at the GCUWCD website www.gcuwcd.org. Interested persons may provide written comments to the GCUWCD on the proposed irrigation well permit applications. Written comments should be filed within thirty (30) days of the date of publication of this notice and in accordance with Rule 24 of the rules of the GCUWCD. Comments should be submitted to the GCUWCD”s General Manager at 920 Saint Joseph, Room 129, P.O. Box 1919, Gonzales, Texas 78629.

 

Where no comments are received by the District and the General Manager determines the application meets all relevant District rules, a public hearing is not required and the Board may act on the permit application at a Board meeting.

PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Lockhart Board of Adjustment will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, November 4, 2013, at 6:30 P.M. in the lower level of City Hall, 308 West San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas, to receive public input regarding the following:

 

ZV-13-04.  A request by Linda Bishop for Variances to Chapter 64 “Zoning” of the Lockhart Code of Ordinances in Section 64-197(g)(1)(b) to allow egress from off-street parking spaces by backing into the public right-of-way, and to Appendix II to reduce the minimum off-street parking requirement from 16 spaces to five spaces, for expansion of an existing building on 0.724 acre zoned CHB Commercial Heavy Business District and located at 605 East Market Street.

 

All interested persons owning property within 200 feet of this property who wish to state their support or opposition may do so at this Public Hearing, or they may submit a written statement to the City Planner for presentation to the Zoning Board of Adjustment at or before the time the public hearing begins.

 

Should any person be aggrieved by the Board’s decision, a written petition for appeal stating that the decision of the Board is illegal in whole or in part and specifying the grounds of the illegality, may be presented to a court of record within ten calendar days after the minutes of the meeting are approved by Board.

Public Bid

The City of Lockhart is accepting bids until 2 pm, Thursday, October 24th, 2013, at City Hall, 308 W San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas 78644, for the fabrication, construction, and installation of a two-story, three stair level, free-standing, metal fire escape structure with concrete piers, steps, and landings. Bid must include all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment to complete the scope of work.

 

Sealed plans, specifications, and bids sheets are available during normal business hours or download from the City website at www.lockhart-tx.org.The successful bidder must provide proof of general liability and workers’ compensation naming the City of Lockhart as an addition.
