Raquel Recio Reyna, known as Mama Rae to all, peacefully went to Heaven at the early age of 65 on Tuesday morning May 22, 2012 at her home in Kyle, Texas.

Raquel was born on Aug. 19, 1946, in Lockhart, Texas. She is preceded in death by husband Maclovio Reyna, parents, Rogelio and Susie Recio, brothers, Rolando and Rogelio Recio, and sisters Rosalba and Susie Recio, Susie He

nderson, and Ruth Campos.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Claudine and Daniel Gonzales, of Buda; son and daughter-in-law, Alias Anthony and Mary G. Recio, of Kyle; grandchildren, Joshua Daniel Gonzales, Sophia Raquel Gonzales and John Brandon Vasquez; sisters, Olga Trelles, Sylvia Recio, Nancy Tamayo, Geneva Franks, Josie Acosta, Norma Recio, Martha Recio and Cynthia Tamayo; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation was held at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart on Friday, May 25, beginning at 11 a.m. for friends with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A celebration service was held on Saturday, May 26 at 10 a.m. at the Word of Life Church located on 400 Old Post Road in Kyle, where Mother Rachel was a member and a Woman of Wisdom; burial followed at San Pablo Cemetery in Lockhart.

Serving as pallbearers were nephews Jonathan Acosta, Robert Acosta, Jr., Michael Acosta, Joseph Dean Rollins, Miguel Segura, Jago Tamayo, Elliot Tamayo and grandson Joshua Gonzales.
