Richard Aubrey Fielder

Richard Aubrey Fielder, age 63, died Dec. 2 in Lockhart, Texas. He was born Oct. 5, 1941 to the marriage of Floy Jeanette Yeatman and Aubrey Hammett Fielder and was a lifelong Lockhart resident. Richard graduated from Lockhart High School in 1959 and earned a business degree from the University of Texas in 1962. He studied accounting and law a

t the University of Houston and earned his law degree in 1968. Richard served as the City Attorney of Lockhart from 1969 until 1974 and as Caldwell County Attorney in 1969 and 1970. In 1970, Governor Preston Smith appointed Richard as the District Attorney for the 22nd Judicial District, covering Caldwell, Hays and Comal Counties. In 1972, he was elected District Attorney, serving one term until 1976. Richard continued his private law practice until 2001. Second only to his love for his daughter were the pleasures and excitement he derived from UT Football, scuba diving and underwater photography. Predeceased by his parents, Richard is survived by his daughter, Frances Elizabeth Fielder; his brother, Alan C. Fielder and his wife, Mary Ann Fielder; his nephew and nieces, Aubrey Clark Fielder, Amanda Ashley Fielder and Kiirstin Lee Daniel and his former wife, Lucy Fielder. A Memorial Service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 919 W. San Antonio St. in Lockhart, Texas.
