Robert Jennings Carter, Sr., 86, of Seguin, formerly of Luling, passed away on Nov. 30, 2010.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation with the Reverend Jerry Sneary and Reverend Russel Matthews officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.

Robert was born on Dec. 17, 1923, in Luling, T

exas, to Robert Wilson and Lois Jennings Carter. Robert graduated Luling High School in 1941 and attended Southwestern University in Georgetown.

Robert played the violin with the Austin Symphony for several years. He was a member of the Army Air Corp during WWII and involved in many business interest in San Antonio and Luling. He was a generous and caring man who never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas F. Carter; parents; and his sister, Ann Coldwell.

Survivors include his children, Star Lee Carter Jones and husband, Mike, Robert J. Carter, Jr., and wife, Ruthetta, Arthur W. Carter and Stuart C. Carter and wife, Rosine; niece, Roberta Tinsley; nephews, Wil Houston Tinsley and John Carter Tinsley; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; other family members and many friends.
