Ronnie Stephens recently retired from Texas Department of Transportation “TxDOT” and was a lifetime resident of Lockhart, Texas. He died on June 16, 2020 at 9:16 am at the age of 67 in Austin at St. David’s South. Unfortunately, Ronnie lost his 6-year battle with cancer.
 Ronnie is survived by brother Scott Stephens and his wife Kathy Stephens; nephew Scott Stephens Jr.; niece Lindsay Stephens and her daughter Clara Gene Stephens; niece Kelly McGovern and her children; nephew Clinton Mapes and his child. He is survived by several cousins and a lifelong friend Bill Rooksberry and his daughter Amanda Mayers. He was preceeded in death by his parents Julius & Gene Stephens and also his two most cherished dogs, Butch and Zack.
Ronnie’s accomplishments were receiving his Eagle Scout award from BSA as young man and he coached Lockhart youth for many years in football and baseball. Ronnie was also one of Lockhart’s best auto parts salesman following in the footsteps of his father, Julius Stephens. Ronnie achieved many awards and certificates during his career at the Construction Division of TxDOT. 
Services were held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Grace Lutheran Church, interment followed at Memory Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking to make a donation in Ronnie’s honor to Grace Lutheran Church 828 Fir Lane, Lockhart, Texas 78644     
Ronnie was a friend to everyone.
